DetailsFelixstowe Rotary Club - Who we are and what we do
Welcome to the website of The Rotary Club of Felixstowe.
The Club was formed in 1926, we are proud of our long history of fellowship and service to the Felixstowe area and the Worldwide community.
We are a lively, active lunchtime Club, known for our hospitality, humour and fun. The Rotary motto is: 'Service above Self'. To achieve the ‘Service’ to local needs and both national and worldwide projects we organise a number of fund-raising events. Events that serve the local community and assist us in supporting those in need. The community events each year include an annual ‘Fun Run’ in May and bringing ‘Rudolph and Santa' to the town and villages at Christmas. Other fundraising events are: ‘International Night ‘, raising funds specifically for overseas projects and causes. ‘Gilbert & Sullivan Concert', assisting Rotary’s Worldwide acclaimed fight against Polio. Plus, sporting events such as a ‘Charity Golf Day’ and an ‘Amateur Boxing Dinner', both these sporting events give the local business community an opportunity to support our charity fundraising. Thanks to all who support these events and particularly to our sponsors.
Our fundraising helps us to assist a number of local charities and organisations, including Basics, Landguard Nature Reserve, Coastwatch volunteers, Citizens Advice and Felixstowe First Responders - to name but a few. The national and international charities supported are: The Salvation Army, Polio Plus, SOS Villages and Shelterbox. Our Club also has an extensive Youth Development programme, working in hand with the local schools. We organise and fund - ‘Kids Kitchen' teaching youngsters to cook and providing work experience in a commercial kitchen (in association with the Yeo Group), ‘Youth Football Tournament’ (in association with I.T.F.C.), ‘Clip 'n Climb Experience’ (in association with Clip 'n Climb), ‘Youth Dragons Den' (in association with Felixstowe School and businesses). We are here to help, to make a difference, ‘To Serve’.
Thank you for visiting our website, please read about our activities and fundraising, find out what we do and how you may be able to get involved or help us.
