Welcome to the Rotary Club of Felixstowe

The Rotary Club of Felixstowe was established in 1926 by a group of dedicated people who took on board the Rotarians motto "Service Above Self", an admirable place from which to embark on many worthy Charitable deeds in the years to follow. In the early days, the Club held its meetings at the Orwell Hotel and after several years of other venues, the Club meets there again at lunchtimes on Thursdays each week.
On 21 April 1926, the Founder Members accepted their Charter and became part of Rotary International. At that time, there were 2,449 Rotary Clubs in 37 Countries worldwide; today, there are over 32,000 in 200 Countries.

Rotary was started in 1905 by an American Attorney, Paul Harris. The initial aim was to promote fellowship and create an opportunity for the members to help each other. Later, as Rotary spread and new clubs were formed, the members started to use their talents in raising funds to support various charitable organizations and those less fortunate than themselves.
Today, Rotary is an organization which looks forward to encouraging people to join and experience the fellowship. See how YOU can help others and at the same time enjoy a great environment. Only YOU will know how it feels when you become part of it.
Worthwhile? Why not find out for yourself? Remember, one person can lift a small rock; but together we can move mountains and for everyone's sake.
